Chocolate Bread

Chocolate Bread
(Fantastic! Not too sweet)

½ c applesauce
1/3 c shortening
2 eggs
1/3 c water
1 ¼ c sugar
1 ½ c flour
1/3 c cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
¾ tsp salt
¼ tsp baking powder
1 c chocolate chips (6 oz)

Grease three 5-inch loaf pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix wet ingredients together (applesauce, shortening, eggs, water). In separate bowl mix dry ingredients (sugar, flour, cocoa, b soda, salt, b powder). Mix both well. Mix in chocolate chips. Put in prepared loaf pans. Bake 45 minutes (or until they test done). Cool in pans about 10 minutes. Finish cooling on rack.
