Stawberry Crumb Bars

Strawberry Crumb Bars

1 box *yellow cake mix
2 ½ cup quick-cooking oats
¾ cup butter, melted
1 cup *strawberry jam (or a little more if needed)
1 Tbsp water (optional)

Combine dry cake mix and oats in a bowl, add melted butter and mix until crumbly. Put half of crumb mix (about 3 cups) in a greased 9x13 baking pan. Press firmly (cover bottom). Spread jam over pressed crumbs, covering completely. (Add Tbsp water before spreading if jam is too thick) Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top. Pat down gently. Bake for 18 to 23 minutes, or until lightly browned.

*You can use white too, but I prefer the taste of yellow.
*Raspberry, blackberry, apricot, or peach jam can be used. It is out of this world with homemade freezer jam!!!

This is so easy and sooooo good served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
